Hi All, Well Saturday ended up being a fairly nice day in the end, after a little bit of indecision at the start I think we got underway at about 11.15 with a pre booked AEF. We had a low 2/8th cloud base at about 2000’ so a 4000’ AEF tow was a beautiful 2000’ above the clouds in very smooth air. I must say as a glider pilot you don’t get to go above the clouds very often so this was one of my more memorable flights. There was reasonable lift below the clouds at times but at 2000’ you weren’t going very far. By early afternoon the cloud base had lifted to about 3000’ AGL and turned into a reasonable day. Congratulations to Graham Whitehead after completing his AEF training with me being a particularly troublesome AEF person, I’m sure he will be a valuable addition to the AEI roster. One of our new students, Simon Schroeder took advantage of the day and we had several training flights without the distractions of a busy day. Kylie Pitt was our duty pilot and by the end of the day had been checked into the Grob and flew it solo for the first time, finishing with a hangar flight on 22, (the only thing she needs to learn is it easier to finish the ground roll adjacent to the hangers, not at the wind sock! 
) All in all it was a great, relaxed day with beautifully polished flying shown by our solo pilots and some very useful training completed. Next time its pouring rain in Brisbane or on the coast you should have a good look at what the weather is doing at Boonah, it’s very rarely the same and I believe Sunday was very good as well. Well done to all.
