Sunday 25/5/08

Not quite as good as yesterday but still very enjoyable. Five gliders set out on the Rimfire task (GGU, NTT, ZAJ, GHS, XXF) . Howard Franks in his ASW-28 and Mike Maddocks and Roger Bond in the Nimbus 3DM completed the course and the rest of us rounded several turnpoints. Take-off time was crucial as was the selected start point. Again light winds and 4 to 5 knot average climbs were available from 12:30 on until 15:00 but several areas were difficult to jag a climb. 6500ft to cloudbase with good streeting in patches.       Longest flight 2hr 35 and 24 launches. New student Robert Nearhos climbed to 6000 ft + on his 5th flight in the K-13 with  Instructor Brian Gilby guiding him.
